Mainstream Living has been awarded a Community Impact Grant through the United Way of Story County. The $75,000 grant will be used to complete outdoor improvements to safety and accessibility at the Mainstream Employment and Learning Center (MELC). Staff at Mainstream is currently working with Fox Engineering to develop a site plan with construction tentatively scheduled to start in the Fall of 2014. Fox Engineering has agreed to waive their professional fees which will help to maximize the use of the grant funds. Amber Corrieri, Director of Development at Mainstream Living says, "this project is one that will drastically improve the safety of the consumers who visit MELC on a daily basis. We are proud to have a long-term partnership with the United Way of Story County and thankful for the support that they not only give to Mainstream, but to many wonderful human service organizations in the community."
