Mainstream Living Receives Check from CyclONE City
January 20, 2015
Mainstream Living accepted an $11,000 donation from the CyclONE City fundraiser at the Iowa State men’s basketball game on January 20, 2014.
CyclONE City is a project created by Leadership Ames Class XXVII, a program organized by the Ames Chamber of Commerce. In total, the project raised $66,000 through local businesses and organizations, who sponsored 30 Cy statues, placed throughout the city of Ames. 5 of the 30 statues were auctioned off on December 4, 2014.
The fundraiser was put in place to raise funds for local charities including Mainstream Living, Emergency Residence Project and Youth & Shelter Services. The other half of the funds were given to Iowa State University to create an endowed scholarship for a Story County resident with disabilities.
