Bill Vaughn Named President/CEO

Becky Anthony, Chair of the Board of Directors of Mainstream Living, Inc., has announced that William “Bill” Vaughn has been appointed President/CEO of the organization effective 4-1-13. Vaughn will replace the long serving President/CEO of Mainstream Living, Reno Berg, who is retiring on 5-2-13, after 36 years as the Chief Executive of the organization.
Vaughn has a BS in Psychology/Sociology from Iowa State University and a M.S.W. in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Vaughn is a licensed independent social worker as registered in the State of Iowa. Vaughn has worked for Mainstream Living for the past 31 years, serving as a direct care worker, House manager, Executive Director of Community Support Advocates, L.L.C. ( a company partially owned by Mainstream Living) and most recently, as 1st Vice-President of Operations in charge of the Home and Community Based Waiver Services program serving persons with intellectual disabilities in a four-county area and providing services to 350 persons daily.
Vaughn is also a Program Surveyor for CARF, a national accrediting body promulgating standards and accreditation services for programs serving persons with disabilities in the U.S. and Canada. Vaughn has served in this capacity for the past nine years.
Mainstream Living, Inc. is a private- not for profit organization providing residential vocational and day services to persons with disabilities in Story, Polk, Dallas and Boone counties in central Iowa. The organization serves 500 + individuals daily, employs 560 staff and operates on an $18 million budget.
