Tip of the Month
Now that Spring is here, let’s talk about how to get moving. Did you know that walking just 30 minutes a day at a normal pace provides many benefits such as weight loss, increased heart health, improve self-esteem, improved mood, higher energy levels, and more? Even walking at a mild pace for 30 minutes can burn over 100 calories. At a brisk pace, the average calorie burn is equivalent to your weight in pounds! Walking for 30 minutes, four days a week can burn between 20,000 and 40,000 in a year!
A recent Harvard sutdy found that there is a 1-to-7 return on moderate exercise for 150 minutes a week. This means one minute of exercise can elongate a person’s life by seven minutes. This is the case even if you start in middle age. So, break out those sneakers and take a walk around the neighborhood!
