EAP FAQ (answers provided by Mutual of Omaha):
What is the difference between EAP and my health insurance?
EAP is not medical insurance. There are no co-pays or deductibles. Unlike your health insurance, Mutual of Omaha’s EAP services are a benefit paid by your employer, designed to support you through personal and work-related issues. When you use our services, you may be asked about your health insurance provider so we can provide a plan that is right for you.
Who can benefit from our EAP?
You, your spouse or domestic partner, and your immediate dependents (including unmarried children up to age 26) are eligible.
What happens when I call the EAP number?
You can expect a licensed counselor to answer the phone. You will then receive support and guidance in developing an action plan that best meets your needs.
The EAP page on the Mutual of Omaha website also offers quick resource links to a variety of wellness issues: diet and nutrition, anger management, and working through grief are just a few. Mutual of Omaha provides a range of articles that address the issues listed there. To read on, visit: https://www.mutualofomaha.com/eap/.
