Tip of the Month - Healthy You!

It's never too late to start a healthy habit! March is National Nutrition Month sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This program began in 1973 to raise awareness about healthy eating and proper nutrition. The slogan for the 2020 campaign is “Eat Right: Bite by Bite.”  The four-week program includes a few simple steps:
Week One: Variety - Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day.
Week Two: Plan ahead - Plan your meals each week.
Week Three: Cook & Prep - Learn skills to create tasty and healthy meals.
Week Four: Consult a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

The website provides toolkits, tip sheets, and games to help make following good nutrition fun and easy. There are a number of helpful and inforamtional articles that can assist you in your program. Locally, there are Registered Nutritionists at several Hy-Vee locations that can help you based on your needs, income, and experience. They will make appointments with you to work on goals for your total health and your family’s health. Please check out to find more helpful articles and fun games.
