January Service Excellence Winners
Congratulations to the following individuals for being recognized as this month's Service Excellence Award Winners. Your gift cards will be delivered to your supervisor. Each month, employees are recognized for going "above and beyond" in their service to members. We encourage staff and managers to nominate a fellow staff member here: http://www.mainstreamliving.
Markie Spykerman, nominated by Mindy Hetland - Markie contacted the school district and arranged for our members to join a preview of the school play. The members had a great time at this event, even getting to meet the cast and receiving signed posters from them. The members got to eat lunch at the school with the cast from the play bringing one member to tears of excitement. This outing could lead to future opportunities with the school.
Stacey Starrett, nominated by Connie Mortdvedt - Shout out to Stacey Starrett for twice taking time on a weekend to visit a member while he was hospitalized. The member experienced a bad spell in which he was unable to walk and was hospitalized for a period of time. While visiting the member in the hospital she assisted with his cares, helped him to walk and visited extensively with the guardian, who truly appreciated Staceys attention to the members well-being. After the hospital stay, Stacey continued to check in on the health status of the member once he returned to his home. Though Stacey works in Support Services, she truly cares about the members served in our agency!
Owen Bell, nominated by Ramon McCarrel - Owen has provided excellent support to members in crisis situations. Anytime a member considers harming themselves, Owen works with them to try and help them find other ways to cope. Owen also helps members build respect for one another to provide a safe living environment. He continually encourages everyone he works with - including staff - do do their best.
Chelsey Fagan, nominated by Ramon McCarrel - Chelsey helped organize the house and create a positive living environment. She recently organized and color coded the calendar for the members so they can easily see their appointments and other things that they have scheduled. She has worked hard to encourage them in working on achieving their goals, and teaching their peers to support each other.
